- sa padma-kośaḥ sahasodatiṣṭhat
- kālena karma-pratibodhanena
- sva-rociṣā tat salilaṁ viśālaṁ
- vidyotayann arka ivātma-yoniḥ
saḥthat — that; padmabud of a lotus flower-kośaḥbud of a lotus flower — bud of a lotus flower; sahasāsuddenly — suddenly; udatiṣṭhatappeared — appeared; kālenaby time — by time; karmafruitive activities — fruitive activities; pratibodhanenaawakening — awakening; svaby its own effulgence-rociṣāby its own effulgence — by its own effulgence; tatthat — that; salilamwater of devastation — water of devastation; viśālamvast — vast; vidyotayanilluminating — illuminating; arkaḥthe sun — the sun; ivalike — like; ātmagenerating from the Personality of Viṣṇu-yoniḥgenerating from the Personality of Viṣṇu — generating from the Personality of Viṣṇu.
Piercing through, this sum total form of the fruitive activity of the living entities took the shape of the bud of a lotus flower generated from the Personality of Viṣṇu, and by His supreme will it illuminated everything, like the sun, and dried up the vast waters of devastation.
