- athābhidhyāyataḥ sargaṁ
- daśa putrāḥ prajajñire
- bhagavac-chakti-yuktasya
- loka-santāna-hetavaḥ
athathus — thus; abhidhyāyataḥwhile thinking of — while thinking of; sargamcreation — creation; daśaten — ten; putrāḥsons — sons; prajajñirewere begotten — were begotten; bhagavatregarding the Personality of Godhead — regarding the Personality of Godhead; śaktipotency — potency; yuktasyaempowered with — empowered with; lokathe world — the world; santānageneration — generation; hetavaḥthe causes — the causes.
Brahmā, who was empowered by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, thought of generating living entities and begot ten sons for the extension of the generations.
