- yathā guṇāṁs tu prakṛter
- yugapat kramaśo 'pi vā
- bibharti bhūriśas tv ekaḥ
- kurvan karmāṇi janmabhiḥ
yathāas they are — as they are; guṇānthe modes of — the modes of; tubut — but; prakṛteḥof the material energy — of the material energy; yugapatsimultaneously — simultaneously; kramaśaḥgradually — gradually; apialso — also; vāeither — either; bibhartimaintains — maintains; bhūriśaḥmany forms — many forms; tubut — but; ekaḥthe supreme one — the supreme one; kurvanacting — acting; karmāṇiactivities — activities; janmabhiḥby incarnations — by incarnations.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead is one, whether He alone acts with the modes of material nature, or simultaneously expands in many forms, or expands consecutively to direct the modes of nature.
