- ity ukto dharma-rājena
- sarvaṁ tat samavarṇayat
- yathānubhūtaṁ kramaśo
- vinā yadu-kula-kṣayam
itithus — thus; uktaḥbeing asked — being asked; dharmaby King Yudhiṣṭhira-rājenaby King Yudhiṣṭhira — by King Yudhiṣṭhira; sarvamall — all; tatthat — that; samavarṇayatproperly described — properly described; yathāas he experienced-anubhūtamas he experienced — as he experienced; kramaśaḥone after another — one after another; vināwithout — without; yaduannihilation of the Yadu dynasty-kulaannihilation of the Yadu dynasty-kṣayamannihilation of the Yadu dynasty — annihilation of the Yadu dynasty.
Thus being questioned by Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, Mahātmā Vidura gradually described everything he had personally experienced, except news of the annihilation of the Yadu dynasty.
