- yathā dīpo nivāta-stho
- neṅgate sopamā smṛtā
- yogino yata-cittasya
- yuñjato yogam ātmanaḥ
yathāas — as; dīpaḥa lamp — a lamp; nivātain a place without wind-sthaḥin a place without wind — in a place without wind; nadoes not — does not; iṅgatewaver — waver; sāthis — this; upamācomparison — comparison; smṛtāis considered — is considered; yoginaḥof the yogī — of the yogī; yatawhose mind is controlled-cittasyawhose mind is controlled — whose mind is controlled; yuñjataḥconstantly engaged — constantly engaged; yogamin meditation — in meditation; ātmanaḥon transcendence — on transcendence.
As a lamp in a windless place does not waver, so the transcendentalist, whose mind is controlled, remains always steady in his meditation on the transcendent self.
A truly Kṛṣṇa conscious person, always absorbed in transcendence, in constant undisturbed meditation on his worshipable Lord, is as steady as a lamp in a windless place.
